Bergen County judge upholds $10 payback decision

HACKENSACK - A Bergen County judge has upheld the sentencing of a woman to pay her debts back $10 at a time.

Antoinette Galluzzo was convicted of stealing $50,000 from the city of Englewood. The Bergen County prosecutor says that it's unlikely that the fire department in Englewood will ever receive the money that was taken from it.

Galluzzo's attorney, Bob Galantucci, argues that the $10 installments are all she can afford. According to Galantucci, Galluzzo has been suspended from her job, evicted, had her car repossessed, and had to move in to her sister's basement. He also says she suffers from mental health problems and that nearly $10,000 was paid back before the case went to court.
