HACKENSACK - Eleven people are facing charges in Bergen County for allegedly stealing people's personal information to open bogus credit card accounts.

The Bergen County Prosecutor's Office says one of the defendants worked for a records storage company that handled mortgage documents.

The employee, Paterson resident Kyle Davis, allegedly sold personal information taken from the documents to a co-conspirator, who applied for credit cards with various stores and added other co-conspirators as authorized buyers. Authorities say 70 people were victimized and losses total more than $150,000.

The stores included Macy's, Bloomingdale's, Victoria's Secret, Sears and others.

The suspects were arrested Thursday and face charges of trafficking in personal information and theft by deception and conspiracy. Each is being held on $300,000 bail.
