Parent Mustafa Meyers says a note was sent home Friday from West End School to inform parents that they were detected inside his child's classroom.

Meyers says he is afraid his children will start bringing the bedbugs home and is afraid to put them on the bus.

School administrators have confirmed that bedbugs were found at the West End School, Amerigo A. Anastasia School, Long Branch High School and inside a preschool classroom at the administrative building on Broadway.

Long Branch Public Schools Superintendent Joseph M. Ferraina told News 12 New Jersey the school district is not "panicking" about the situation and is doing everything it can to keep the bedbugs out of the schools. Ferraina said the bedbugs are "an issue that really needs to be addressed at home." He also said that it's not a "full-blown infestation"
