BAYONNE - Several trees are being cut down to make room for the Bayonne Bridge expansion.

West Fifth Street residents are upset with the Port Authority after learning that trees will have to be cut down to make way for the Bayonne Bridge Expansion.

According to one of the neighbors, the trees were planted by a student group several years ago.

The bridge is being raised as part of a project to allow bigger ships into the ports of Elizabeth and Newark.
