BAYONNE - Police Capt. James Davis has a new job as Bayonne's new mayor. 

He was sworn in as mayor of Bayonne by U.S. Senator Bob Menendez Tuesday.

Davis defeated the city's incumbent mayor in a heated runoff this spring.

The city's new council members also took the oath of office today during the ceremony at the high school.
