BAYONNE - The city of Bayonne has opened up 14 school parking lots to residents in an effort to aid snow removal.

Officials say snowplows have had issues clearing the roads due to the large number of cars parked on the streets.

Mayor Mark Smith says that he's used the same arrangement for the past two snowstorms and it has worked out well.

Officials say the parking lots will be open until Jan. 3.
