BAYONNE - The project to raise the Bayonne Bridge is moving ahead of schedule.

The Port Authority says that it has cut six months off the construction schedule.

The bridge is being raised by 64 feet, which allows larger ships to make their way to ports in Elizabeth and Newark.

Officials anticipate the deck removal will be done by the fall of 2015.
