Autopsy to be performed on body found in Passaic River

CLIFTON - The body discovered by workers earlier today in the Passaic River was taken to the Newark Examiner's office to undergo an autopsy. The results are expected to be in tomorrow.

The body was dressed in jeans, work boots and an off-white T-shirt.

The executive director of the Passaic Valley Sewerage Commission says this is the third body in three years that has been found in the area.

According to the supervisor, about five bodies have been discovered in the area in the last half dozen years or so.

Police would not comment on the other bodies pulled from the river or about the dangers of the river at this time.
