IRVINGTON - Autopsy results have been released on the man who was shot and killed by a state police detective in Irvington Thursday night.
The results found that Dawud Alexander died from a gunshot wound to the chest, and that he was shot three times from the front.
Troopers say they shot Alexander because he appeared to point a gun at them.
A gun was recovered at the scene.
Addressing some speculation a gun was planted, the Attorney General's Office stated a gun was found in a location where Alexander could have discarded or dropped it.
