EDISON - An investigation into an attempted child luring in Edison is under way.

Officials say a 10-year-old girl had just got off a school bus Tuesday evening on Duley Avenue near Route 27 when she was approached by a man in a van. They say the girl ran home after the unidentified man asked her if she wanted a ride.

The suspect is described as a man in his 50s with brown hair and a goatee. Authorities say he was wearing a baseball cap and driving a white van.

Anyone with information is asked to call Edison police at 732-248-7367.
