TRENTON - (AP) - The Assembly Budget Committee is scheduled to hold the first of three hearings on New Jersey's proposed $29.4 billion state budget.

Tuesday's hearing in Trenton will focus on issues of health, children, families and seniors.

Other hearings this month will be in Montclair and Blackwood. They'll cover funding for transportation, education and the environment.

The Senate Budget Committee is conducting similar public hearings around the state. The first was held Monday in Bergen County.
