MANVILLE - Ash and debris from a massive warehouse fire on U.S. 206 in Hillsborough have fallen on several nearby towns.
Residents in Manville told News 12 New Jersey that charred bits of the Veterans Industrial Park were found on their vehicles and property.
One homeowner says that the bits of ash were hot to the touch when she tried to clean them off of her car.
Another homeowner found a nearly 1-foot long piece of debris on property in the Weston section of Manville.
Winds in the area were gusting around 23 mph Thursday, which is why the debris was found so far away. The smoke plume from the fire could be seen all the way in Staten Island and Manhattan.
The first started in the industrial park Thursday afternoon.
