ASBURY PARK - A proposal to place a half-dozen food trucks along Asbury Park's north end has some residents concerned.
Plan developer Madison Marquette says that six trucks have been proposed for the mobile food court. She says the trucks would operate from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and that there would be no generators or overnight parking.
Some neighbors who live in the upscale North Beach tower across from the proposed food truck site say that they are concerned about the noise and garbage that the food truck site might create.
Empress hotel manager Joe Crisci says that food trucks are necessary at the boardwalk for thousands of people who empty out of the many nearby bars and clubs.
If the Asbury Park City Council approves the proposal, it will then move to the planning commission for a later vote.
Food truck developers say the public reaction is split 50/50, but right now they have no plans to change their location.
