ASBURY PARK - (AP) - Officials say an Asbury Parkfirefighter has been seriously burned while fighting an apartmentfire in the seaside community. City officials told the Asbury Park Press that 41-year-oldfirefighter Jason Fazio was in critical condition Monday afternoonat St. Barnabas Burn Center in Livingston. Officials told the newspaper Fazio was injured when he went intothe apartment above a row of stores on Main Street and the firesuddenly flashed over. Fire Chief Kevin Keddy said Fazio jumped out the second-storywindow to save himself and suffered broken bones in addition toburns. No one was home when the fire broke out at midmorning Monday. Anadjacent apartment and a first-floor restaurant also were damaged.
