Asbury Park boardwalk back in business

Town officials say they're looking forward to officially

Town officials say they're looking forward to officially cutting the ribbon on May 18.

ASBURY PARK - Asbury Park's boardwalk was filled with storm debris and sand just three months ago. Now, town officials are launching a campaign to get the word out that they're back open for business.

Asbury Park Mayor Ed Johnson was on hand today at the grand reopening of Stella Marina. The oceanfront restaurant was full of muck and foam after Sandy hit and smashed all of the windows. Today, it was just as lively as it ever was.

Mayor Johnson wanted to use the grand reopening of the oceanfront business to send the message that business owners have been working around the clock to once again welcome customers.

The boardwalk is still under construction, but the mayor says they've got a target date for it to be completed.

Mayor Johnson says "We're really looking forward to cutting the ribbon on May 18, and just saying the Asbury Park beach and the boardwalk is open."
