Artist says face of Jesus Christ appeared in her painting

JERSEY CITY - A 70-year-old Jersey City grandmother who has been painting for the last five years says that Jesus Christ appeared unintentionally in her art work.

Elmira Wade says she was visited by a miracle last month. Wade says that many people will be skeptical, however, her faith is strong as evidenced by the Christian themed T-shirts she creates for local charities.

She says she hung her T-shirts out to dry on a chain-link fence across the street from Christ The King Church when a priest came out and blessed the shirts as well as her hands. Wade says she painted the painting with the image of Christ two days later.

Wade is a self-taught artist that has received numerous citations for her work over the years.
