Arson suspected in Wantage blaze that destroyed 35 cars

WANTAGE - Investigators say about 35 vehicles were destroyed in a blaze at a storage parking lot used by Franklin Sussex Auto Mall in Wantage early yesterday morning. Fire officials say it occurred at around 2:30 a.m. on Route 564. Officials suspect the fire was a case of arson.

The lot is owned by the Ames Rubber Corporation. Officials at the dealership stress that the dealership was not damaged in the fire and that they are still open for business as usual.

State police are investigating and have not yet released exactly how the fire started, or if there are any suspects.
