Arrest made in Union County cold case

UNION TOWNSHIP - The Union County Prosecutor's Office held a news conference this afternoon announcing an arrest in a 2010 homicide.

Arnelle Yearwood, 26, is being charged in the homicide of Diane Zaleski. Zaleski was murdered in her home in November of 2010. Authorities say the 54-year-old woman was stabbed to death. Union County Prosecutor Theodore Romankow said it is believed that Zaleski fought valiantly for her life.

Yearwood had been living with his mother across the street from where the murder occurred, according to prosecutors. Yearwood was arrested Saturday afternoon.

Prosecutors say there was a large amount of DNA evidence at the scene of the crime, including on the mouse of her computer.

The case began to crack about two weeks ago when one of Yearwood's Facebook friends became suspicious of things he had said online. The woman saved the posts and called police.
