Army parachute team won't appear in Atlantic City

ATLANTIC CITY - (AP) - Organizers say the Army's Golden Knights parachute team won't appear at the Atlantic City Airshow in June because of federal budget cuts.

It was the only major military team performance planned for the show.

Officials are trying to schedule commercial acts instead.

Greater Atlantic City Chamber president Joe Kelly tells The Press of Atlantic City private acts can more than triple the cost. Kelly says Kelly the chamber will likely look to additional contributions from businesses.

The Atlantic City Airshow is scheduled for June 26.
