TEMPE - A man accused of killing Arizona student and New Jersey native Kyleigh Ann Sousa is behind bars tonight.

Sousa was killed in May outside an IHOP restaurant in Tempe, Ariz. just minutes from her college campus.

Jose Luis Marquez is being charged with first-degree murder. Police say he was the driver of the car that dragged Sousa to her death.

Police say Marquez snatched Sousa's purse and sped away, but Sousa became entangled in the handbag. She was dragged about 20 feet before she broke loose, hitting her head on the ground.

Sousa's mother, Karen Montenegro, says that she doesn't spend a lot of time thinking about the person that killed her daughter because she is in her own world of grief.
