Apparent vandalism of Newark Councilman, mayoral candidate Ras Baraka’s campaign bus prompts investigation

NEWARK - Police are investigating the apparent vandalism of Newark Councilman Ras Baraka's campaign bus.

Campaign staffers for Baraka, who is running for mayor, told News 12 they discovered the bus vandalism Sunday morning. They say the bus was also set on fire.

Pictures of the vandalism show cracked glass and torn seats, some of which were completely torn out.

The bus was parked at 421 Central Ave. in Newark, which is across the street from Baraka’s campaign headquarters.
