MANCHESTER - A couple living in a senior community is accused of using their Manchester home to operate a prostitution ring.

Police say Anne Donahue and her boyfriend Philip Cottone advertised their business on a website and invited patrons to a house on Thornbury Lane in Leisure Village West. The house is in a gated community.

The ring allegedly came crashing down after a client greeted at the door by Donahue tried leaving when she didn't resemble photos on the website. Police say Donahue and Cottone then robbed him.

"We live here and it's a quiet place," says Larry Carlin. "We didn't think anything like that would happen."

More than 600 people visited the home since August, according to police, and all of those people had to go through security. "I personally can't believe that no suspicions would be raised with so many visits to the place in a short period of time," says neighbor Kris Murphy.

"We pay to be living in a gated community to be safe and they're letting all these people in," says Diane Diehl.

Donahue and Cottone have been charged with robbery, prostitution, criminal restraint, theft and drug offenses. They're being held at the Ocean County Jail. Leisure Village West had no comment and would not allow News 12 New Jersey inside the gated community.
