BLOOMFIELD - Animal control officers in Bloomfield are looking for the person responsible for abandoning a young pit bull in the bitter cold this weekend.

Chanel, who is no more than a year old, was found padlocked in a yard on Chester Avenue, burrowing holes into the ground for warmth.

The chain around her neck was so tight, firefighters were called in to cut it off of her.

Chanel was found emaciated and infested with fleas, with several sores on her body.

Anyone with information on the owner or owners of this dog are asked to contact Bloomfield Animal Control.
