LODI - An American Legion post in Bergen County is getting some much needed help.

The post was destroyed in a fire more than seven years ago.

Insurance only covers half of the rebuilding costs, but teams of people have donated money, parts and their time to help rebuild the structure.

This past week, the Sprinkler Fitters union installed sprinklers. The free parts and labor for this system saved the post almost $40,000.

The post currently has three-quarters of the money it needs to rebuild, officials say. They say they plan to borrow the rest and reopen by summer.
