Amanda Knox returns to U.S. after 4 years in prison

SEATTLE - (AP) - Amanda Knox cried as she saw her supporters forthe first time after she spent four years in an Italian prison. Knox sat on a chair with her family while her attorney, TheodoreSimon, spoke to reporters just minutes after a plane carrying herand her parents landed Tuesday in Seattle. Simon says Knox would speak later during the news conference.She cried as he reiterated her claims on innocence in the sexualassault and fatal stabbing of her British roommate. The Universityof Washington student was studying abroad in Perugia. The conviction was overturned amid doubts over DNA evidence.Prosecutors insist she was among three people who killed21-year-old Meredith Kercher. Knox has become a tabloid staple on two continents.
