BERGENFIELD - All eyes are on Lilac Street in Bergenfield after a frightening weekend robbery occurred.

A man says he left his home around midnight Saturday and left the garage door open while he ran to the store. He says when he came back, three thugs were waiting for him inside. He says one of them struck him in the head with a semi-automatic pistol.

The man told police that the men dragged him inside, barging in on the rest of his terrified family. He says the crooks tied up the family and robbed them. A resident in the house refused to go on camera today, but neighbors say they're done taking their safety for granted.

People in the area tell News 12 New Jersey that this is the first time they can remember anything like this happening in the area.

Police are unable to provide detailed descriptions of the suspects because the men were all wearing clothing that hid their identities. They are encouraging anyone with any information to call them at 201- 387-4000.
