Airport security supervisor held on bail after ID charge

NEWARK - The man accused of using a fake identity to get a position as security supervisor at Newark Liberty Airport is being held on $250,000 bail in Essex County.

If he makes bail, he will not be able to go free. Instead, he will be held by immigration officers.

Bimbo Oyewole, an illegal Nigerian immigrant, is accused of using the identity of Jerry Thomas, a man whose 1992 murder remains unsolved. New Jersey's attorney general is working with the NYPD to see if Oyewole had a role in Thomas' murder.
