NEWARK - Saturday morning travelers were met with heavy delays at Newark Liberty International Airport due to the heavy snow.
 
The airport was forced to close at about 2:45 a.m., leaving many travelers grounded.
 
Some travelers told News 12 that they had to spend hours circling in the sky before landing.
 
The domestic flights leaving Newark are running well as of 6 p.m. Saturday, but officials suggest checking with the carrier prior to picking someone up.
