CAMDEN - Adventure Aquarium in Camden is celebrating "Shark Week" with two giant tanks used to show off several different types of sharks.

Hammerheads, nurse sharks and other breeds were on display for visitors.

Experts say the animals known for their power and speed can live up to 40 years or more.

Senior biologist Matt Ferroni says, "It's a week dedicated to appreciating the animal and dispelling the myths and rumors. Telling people these aren't savage monsters that'll tear you to shreds."

Ferroni say he tries to educate visitors that these animals are threatened and everyone has an impact on them.

Many of the breeds are native to the Jersey Coast.

The aquarium offers shark dives for an extra fee.

Adventure Aquarium is right now the only aquarium in the country where you can see a Hammerhead on exhibit.
