NEW YORK - Actor Rob McClure, a native of New Milford, got a backstage visit from pop art icon Peter Max on Friday. 

McClure was starring on Broadway as Charlie Chaplin in "Chaplin The Musical" last year when Max came to see the show.

Max, who as a child was a big fan of Chaplin's silent movies, was so blown away by McClure's Tony-nominated performance that he decided to paint of portrait of McClure as Chaplin.

Max presented McClure with the portrait at his New York City studio.
