OLD BRIDGE - The driver of the Academy commuter bus that collided with a school minibus on Jan. 10 has been hit with two traffic violations, according to police.

Daniel Jean-Pierre, of Barnegat, was cited with careless driving and improper passing. Investigators have ruled that Jean-Pierre was responsible for the crash.

On Jan. 10, Jean-Pierre crashed the commuter bus he was driving into the back of a school minibus. The minibus turned over and crashed into a power supply station. The nearly full Academy bus went another 60 yards and crashed into a tree.

A total of 35 people were injured in the accident.

Only the driver and a bus aide were on the minibus.
