HOBOKEN - Academy Bus announced yesterday that it has decided not to raise fares in response to higher tolls on the Port Authority's bridges and tunnels.

The company says it will continue to study ways to save money without disrupting service. The company says it is exploring options for a sustainable solution, including an appeal to the Port Authority to lessen the impact.

NJ Transit also decided not to pass along the cost of the higher tolls to its bus passengers.

Some bus companies are facing increases as high as 150 percent.
