ATLANTIC CITY - (AP) - Atlantic City's casinos are urgingvoters to line up behind betting on professional sports games.

The Casino Association of New Jersey says it supports anonbinding referendum on the November ballot that asks voterswhether they support legalizing sports betting. Actual bets couldnot be accepted until a federal law limiting legal sports bettingto four states is repealed or overturned.

Robert Griffin, the association president and the CEO of TrumpEntertainment Resorts, says sports betting would become an economicasset for Atlantic City and the entire state.

New Jersey had a chance to approve sports betting in the 1990s,but missed a deadline to do so. It's only legal in Nevada,Delaware, Oregon and Montana.
