EDISON - Gov. Chris Christie (R-N.J.) was in Trenton yesterday talking about trimming the budget fat. Today, he was on the "Today Show" talking about his weight loss.

On the NBC show, the governor talked about trying to lose weight. Ann Curry asked him about his efforts this morning.

Christie told Curry, "I started to do this because I have four children between the ages of 7 and 17. I want to be here for them, for the long haul."

The governor won't say how much weight he's lost, but News 12 New Jersey asked patrons at Extreme Fitness in Piscataway if they can see a difference when looking at the governor. Some said they saw a little bit of a difference and others said they couldn't see much of a difference at all.

Christie has denied once again that he was trying to lose weight in advance of a presidential run.
