ELIZABETH - Prosecutors say authorities shut down a New Jersey heroin mill, resulting in the arrests of eight suspects and the seizure of more than a half-million dollars in drugs.
Acting Union County Prosecutor Grace Park said Tuesday local and federal authorities conducted the raids in the Elizabeth area Friday night.
Authorities say the mill had been operating out of an Elizabeth home's basement and was distributing drugs to a network of dealers in two counties.
The raids resulted in the seizure of heroin, cocaine and the designer drug known as "molly," as well as drug paraphernalia and nearly $64,000.
Two suspects are from Plainfield. One is from Newark and another is from Old Bridge. The rest are from Elizabeth.
