WALLINGTON - A 70-year-old Wallington woman has been accused of plotting an assault-for-hire scheme that would have targeted victims in New Jersey, New York and Connecticut.

Authorities say Vivian Peltier met with an undercover officer and instructed him to beat the victims for money. Authorities say the officer was told he would receive a percentage of the cash that he collected from the beatings.

Police arrested her on April 30 after they said she made a down payment to the officer.

Peltier is charged with conspiracy to commit aggravated assault and conspiracy to commit robbery.
