70-year-old man saves 2 children from ocean

ATLANTIC CITY - Officials are calling a 70-year-old man a hero after he saved two children from drowning in Atlantic City.

Lou Rosso says he was out watching the fireworks on the 4th of July when he saw the two kids struggling to stay above water.

The 70-year-old said he jumped into the ocean and swam 100 yards to the young children. "It keeps going through my mind that I had a life in each hand," Rosso said.

All three made it to shore safely and were taken to a nearby hospital for evaluation. Local officials say Rosso could win a civilian award because he went above and beyond the call of duty for an ordinary citizen.
