7-year-old girl killed in Pemberton house fire

PEMBERTON - Authorities say a house fire in Pemberton Township killed a 7-year-old girl.

Fire officials say the blaze was reported at around 11:30 p.m. last night.

Authorities say the girl's parents were not home, but four other siblings were. They say her 17-year-old sister tried to save her, but could not get to her through the smoke and flames. None of the other children were injured.

Firefighters found the girl's body during a secondary search after the blaze was brought under control.
