HOBOKEN - Authorities say a man was killed by a gunshot wound early Monday morning in Hoboken.

Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez says police were dispatched to a possible cardiac arrest call at a home on Grand Street just after 1 a.m.

When officers arrived, they discovered a 51-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the chest. He was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.

Suarez says the investigation into the death is in the early stages, and detectives have not yet ruled out that the gunshot wound was self-inflicted.
