5 injured when school bus collides with taxi in Newark

Five people including a child were injured after a taxi they were riding in collided with a school bus.

NEWARK - Five people including a child were injured after a taxi they were riding in collided with a school bus.

Newark police say that the school bus was traveling the wrong way down Washington Street Thursday afternoon when it collided with the taxi. The bus then struck several parked cars.

There were 12 people, including 10 teenagers, on the school bus at the time. None of the bus passengers were injured.

The passengers in the taxi were taken to nearby hospitals to be treated for injuries that did not appear to be life-threatening.
