4-year-old shot in arm in Irvington

IRVINGTON - Authorities say a 4-year-old boy was shot in the arm in an Irvington apartment last night.

A witness called police at around 10:30 p.m. to report that someone had been handing a firearm when it suddenly discharged. Authorities responded to the 21st Street apartment to find that the child had been shot in the arm.

The child, whose name was not released, was taken to an area hospital where he was reportedly in stable condition.

Authorities say an investigation is ongoing.
