PATERSON - Prosecutors and police confirm that four people were shot in an apparent drive-by shooting in Paterson.

According to police and witnesses, shots rang out around 9 p.m. at the intersection of Carroll and Governor streets in Paterson. Prosecutors say four young people were hit. Witnesses reported that the shooting did not sound like an exchange of gunfire, and that the shots all seemed to come from one gun. Witnesses reported hearing tires screech away following the shooting.

The investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
