4 armed suspects rob West Long Branch apartment

WEST LONG BRANCH - Police are looking for four masked men who they say robbed four people at gunpoint inside a West Long Branch apartment.

According to police, the four suspects forced their way into an apartment in the Avalon apartment building off Monmouth Road early Monday morning. The four people living in the apartment were held up at gunpoint while the suspects robbed the place of money and other valuables, investigators say.

Police won't say if the specific apartment was targeted, but residents who live in the building say it wouldn't be "too surprising" if it was.

One of the suspects is described as being 6'3" tall, with braided hair and was wearing a skull cap. The second suspect was about 5'8", with a thin build and a shaved head, and a third suspect was described as short with a heavy build. Police say they may have fled in a dark Honda Accord with a loud muffler.
