PLAINFIELD - Several families in Plainfield are without a home this morning after a wind-swept four-alarm fire ripped through an apartment building.

The fire broke out at around 1:30 a.m. destroying eight units at the Netherwood Garden Apartments.

Authorities say two victims were injured in the blaze. One man was flown to Saint Barnabas Medical Center with second-degree burns. Officials say both are listed in stable condition.

Nine firefighters from three fire companies sustained minor injuries while working to extinguish the fire.

Investigators are still working to determine what started the blaze.
