NORTH BERGEN - Authorities say a man was struck and killed by a car as he tried to cross a road in North Bergen.

Hudson County authorities say 33-year-old Justin Winters, of Union City, was walking across Kennedy Boulevard when the accident occurred around 10:15 p.m. Saturday. Winters was struck by a southbound vehicle driven by 22-year-old North Bergen resident Renny Martinez.

Winters was taken to a hospital but was pronounced dead there a short time later.
