HACKENSACK - A Hackensack scaffolding collapse that inured seven construction workers, two of them critically, is being investigated by OSHA.
Three of the construction workers injured remain in the hospital. Two of them are in the intensive care unit.
Seven workers were hurt in total when the collapsed happened Thursday afternoon. They were constructing a new roof at the Brookdale Apartment’s located at 139 Tracy Place. They fell about 45 feet.
The injured worked for Penn Roofing Company based out of Belleville. There were 11 employees working at the time of the accident.
The scaffolding appeared to be comprised of several ladders. The Brookdale Apartments property manager tells News 12 New Jersey that the company had been working on several buildings all week.
The Bergen County Sheriff’s Office is also investigating the incident.
