3 police vehicles hit by suspected drunk driver

FORT LEE - (AP) - Authorities say the cars of four police officers investigating one suspected drunk driver were struck byanother early Monday in northern New Jersey.

The four officers were treated for back and neck injuries.

All of them are on the police department of the Port Authorityof New York and New Jersey.

Authorities say the officers had three police cars parked on theshoulder of Interstate 95 near the George Washington Bridge afterstopping a suspected drunk driver a little after 4 a.m.

It was then that another car plowed into one of the police carsfrom behind, sparking a chain reaction.

The driver was identified as 40-year-old Omar Roach.

He was taken to Holy Name Hospital in Teaneck.
