3 northern NJ companies expected to lay off around 450

EDISON - By the end of the month, 441 people could be jobless as three northern New Jersey companies have announced layoffs.

The companies are President Container Group, of Moonachie, Cosmetic Essence in Teterboro and Wayne-based Toshiba America Consumer Products.

Presidential Containers, a corrugated box manufacturer, has been in business for 40 years in New Jersey, but plans to move to Orange, New York because of greater tax benefits.

The owner of Presidential Containers, Larry Grossbard, says that he wanted to stay in New Jersey but because of the high taxes, made the decision to move.

Some workers such as Tony Vandoulakis say they will move for the company, if asked.
