3 NJ residents who were stuck in Cairo land in Greece

EDISON - Tens of thousands of Americans were traveling in Egypt when the violence broke out last week. Among them where three Monmouth County residents.

Mark and Rachel Steinberg are world travelers, but this adventure is one they could have done without. The couple was on tour with 26 other Americans in Egypt when the civil unrest broke out against Egyptian President Hosni Mubarek.

The group managed to get a flight from Alexandria, Egypt to Cario, where they were put up in the Fairmont Hotel, which was surrounded by tanks. They say security kept them off the first floor, away from windows and behind chained doors. The group was later able to get a flight to Athens.

The third Monmouth County resident with the same travel group is Sheryl Cohen Horowitz, of Manalapan.
