3 injured in overnight fire in Wharton

WHARTON - Three people were injured after an overnight fire ripped through several homes in Wharton.

The fire broke out at around 10:30 p.m. last night in a home on South Main Street.

Fire officials say someone in the home tried to put out the fire before calling for help. The fire quickly grew out of control and spread to two adjoining multi-family homes.

Firefighters from 10 nearby departments were called in to help fight the blaze.

About 30 people have been displaced as a result of the fire.

The victims sustained minor injuries, according to fire officials.
